Cleaning Coach Releases Recipe Book for Allergy Free Cleaning
With The Joy of Green Cleaning, Cleaning Can Be Safe and Free of Allergens
UXBRIDGE, MA – January 6, 2009 -- Blackstone Valley author and presenter Leslie Reichert has introduced her new book, The Joy of Green Cleaning, to an audience demanding allergy free cleaning products.
The Joy of Green Cleaning is the first cook book for green cleaning. Reichert created and tested simple yet proven recipes for cleaners who want to “go green” using low cost items such as lemon, salt, and baking soda. “I created this book because I saw, firsthand, what harsh chemicals found in most cleaners can do,” says Reichert. “My cleaning recipes are non-toxic and they use ingredients from your pantry—not from the cabinet under the sink.”
Reichert, a Northbridge resident and owner of the retail store The Back Door in Uxbridge, holds workshops on how to create green cleaning products from her book. “The more I speak and teach green cleaning techniques, the more I run into individuals with severe allergies. Many people have sensitivities to the ingredients in the cleaners that we would all expect to keep our homes clean and safe,” states Reichert, “and I believe this book provides some great alternatives that really do work.”
One recipe in the book calls for mixing simple things together like baking soda and vinegar to make a foaming sink cleanser. The Joy of Green Cleaning also provides information on where to locate some of the harder-to-find products recommended in green cleaning recipes. “Most of the cleaners are made from things found right in your pantry, but a few of the items can be difficult to locate at the local grocery store. I therefore created a list of where to buy them,” says Reichert. “Unfortunately, the number of individuals with allergies to cleaning products continues to rise and the only way to fight back is to know what is in the cleaners you are using in your home.”
Reichert has taken green to a new level with her book by creating it as an E-book. You can have this collection of recipes at your fingertips without using any paper products!
